Level One
The Lead Singer Says: We are at the very beginning, no one even knows our name, but we have great music and lots of energy and we want to jump in with both feet.
Sound like you? Then you will want to consider our sister site PR Lady.
Each PR Lady publicist comes to the team with a different skill set, a different way of working and a different work history. We know for certain that diversity is an asset. What we have in common (and the reason we still really like each other after all these years) is a love for music and the determination to help talentedbutunfunded artists build a following. We believe it is entirely possible to have a sustainable and gratifying career as an independent musician and that every musical genre has worth. (Well, actually death metal is a little problematic for us, but every other genre is something we can understand).
At some point youll be earning enough money through CD and tickets sales that youll want a fulltime publicist on retainer. (Truly, thats one achievable goal right after landing a big time booking agent). Until that time comes we thought it would be cool for independent artists to have quick access to sound advice for a modest financial investment. Were even thinking of having tshirts printed that say just that.
Repeat after us: quick access, sound advice, and modest financial investment.

Level Two
The Bass Player/Band Manager Says: We are totally DIY, weve
got a bit of money and a bunch of tour dates and we need a professional voice to speak to the press on our behalf. We want to cover all the local press and if we
are lucky, well get a couple of Critics Picks and well get lots of namebuilding props.
This closer to where you are? Then you want Vermillion TakeOut.
TakeOut is our Level 2 Tour Press offering. Were really good at this. (itÅ´œs an incredibly time consuming process.) We work under the umbrella of Vermillion Media Group and for
the purposes of tour publicity youÅ´œll be repd by Vermillion. Well write your tour dates press release. We handle local press for all tour dates this includes direct communication with
local music writers (phone, fax and email as required) and also includes the allimportant calendar listings editors. If a daily or weekly paper wants the listing submitted online, then well go ahead and do that too.
There is no guarantee that a writer will want to write something, but we guarantee theyll know about the show.
Tour publicity must start a minimum of 4 weeks prior to the first gig on the schedule. Fee for Vermillion TakeOut is based on where, and how many shows youve got. Well quote you a
price that makes sense. The fee pays for your wellwritten press release, it pays for our time servicing all tour markets and it pays for the fact that we have a robust and accurate database that is
obsessively updated and finally, the fee pays for the fact that music writers know our name and expect to hear from us.
When a writer asks for a physical copy of the CD well tell you where to send it.
When a writer asks for an interview (sure, you bet, it can happen) well arrange the conversation.
At the end of the tour you get a detailed press report that lists all press activity good, bad or otherwise.
Make no mistake, good tour press is time consuming!
