Peter and Keith [Live]

After years of creative soul searching and exciting transitions, Pete Cornell, brother to Chris Cornell of Soundgarden and Audioslave, arrived in New York City. Once in the Big Apple, Cornell hooked up with bassist Keith Mannino and got to work on the vibrant and blistering, emotionally resonant tracks that became the foundation of their groundbreaking new band Black Market Radio.

Black Market Radio toured steadily while completing work on their new release, Better Than A Killer, due out August 7 on Philadelphia based indie SlugFest Records. The CD is a collaborative work reflecting the experiences of its creators. The songs are simultaneously melodic and powerful, full of grit and passion. The opening track, ’Waves,’ features a fiery, chugging groove and soaring harmonic vocals, teetering between bright sunshine and brooding clouds.

“Most of the tunes are autobiographical,“ says Cornell “Better Than A Killer is what I really wanted to do as a musician and artist. It’s kind of a dark record, but there are shades of optimism.“
